Temps being down means it run faster for longer (with the exception of throttle stop) which in turns means performance. To create a new partition out of that newly freed up space (256MB) - select the unallocated partition matching that size. First make sure that theres a new 'operation pending' in the lower part of the GParted window. Get an eGPU like the Razer Core X with an nVidia 1070/1660/2060 whatever mainstream card (since you play older games) - that way the rendering burden is off of your laptop and it only has to work the CPU.
